Administering Ashes or Keepsakes

Please read all instructions before beginning. Take your time and choose a quiet space where you feel comfortable.

What’s included in your kit

Your Woven Ash filling kit includes:
• Precision funnel
• Fine filling tool

Preparing your space

Select a clean, well-lit surface and lay down a soft cloth to protect your jewellery. Only a very small amount of ashes or keepsake material is required. Many customers find it meaningful to pause and take a moment before beginning.

Filling the jewellery

  1. Position the precision funnel over the opening.
  2. Place a small amount of ashes or keepsake material into the funnel.
  3. Use the fine filling tool to gently guide the material into the compartment.
  4. Do not overfill. Leave enough space to allow the compartment to seal securely.

Only a symbolic amount is needed to honour your loved one.

Sealing the compartment

Carefully close the compartment using the sealing tool.

Jewellery care

Your Woven Ash jewellery is crafted from stainless steel and finished with an 18k gold coating. With proper care, it is designed to be worn and cherished for years.

Cosmetics & Skin Contact

Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, hairsprays, or cosmetics.
Put on jewellery after applying products to reduce wear on the gold coating.

Polishing & Maintenance

Gently polish your jewellery using the polishing cloth provided.
Avoid:
• Abrasive materials or rough cloths
• Ultrasonic cleaners or harsh chemical cleaners

These may damage the gold coating. Regular gentle polishing will maintain the shine and beauty of your keepsake.

Water & Daily Wear

The stainless steel base is highly durable and will not rust or tarnish with everyday exposure, including rain or hand washing.

To preserve the gold coating, avoid prolonged exposure to:
• Swimming pools or hot tubs (chlorine)
• Salt water
• Household chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaning products

FAQ

Can I wear my jewellery in the shower or while swimming?

Yes, the stainless steel will be fine. Wearing your jewellery in the shower or in rain won’t harm the base metal.

To keep the gold coating looking its best over time, we recommend avoiding:

  • Hot tubs, swimming pools, or chlorinated water
  • Household cleaning products or bleach
  • Strong perfumes, lotions, or cosmetics applied directly to the jewellery

How do I care for my jewellery?

Your jewellery is low-maintenance, but a few steps will help preserve the gold coating:

  • Gently polish with the cloth provided after wearing
  • Store in a dry place when not in use
  • Avoid abrasive cloths or harsh cleaners

Following these steps keeps your keepsake shining for years.

Is the jewellery waterproof?

The stainless steel base is extremely resilient, it will not rust or tarnish if worn in everyday situations, including rain or light water exposure.

The 18k gold coating is durable, but like all plated jewellery, it can wear over time if exposed to harsh chemicals, chlorine, or strong abrasives.
